How do I set electronic signatures as my default setting in Adobe Acrobat XI Standard?

I was configured in tools where I could pick up my image signature by clicking "Place Signature" but one day it just defaulted to my digital signature and it won't allow me to Place Signature now (my signature graphic) unless I go through the process of changing saved signatures.
