Impossible to Digitally Sign in Reader on MacOS

Hi,

I am trying to insert a Digital Signature in a PDF document using Acrobat Reader and a Digital ID on MacOS supplied via EU government ID with a chip-card and an USB card reader.

The signing step fails in the dialogue "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC wants to use the "xxx" keychain (where "xxx" is some multi-digit identifier of my government ID).

The error message I get is "The credential selected for signing is invalid"

The password I have supplied is the 4-digit signing password, which correctly unlocks the keychain in the "Keychain" app.

Acrobat reader is up-to-date (checked with the "update now" button, and I'm using macOS Sierra 10.12.6

The exact same process executes correctly on a windows machine.

Help anyone?
