How to set up digital signature

noindex tags in a PDF

Greetings,

I'm looking for a way to encourage search engines to not index a PDF by placing a 'noindex' or similar tag in the PDF document.

I work with an educational organization who shares copyrighted PDF documents with members who are teachers and want to share the documents with their students on websites. Our document repository only members can view, so there is no problem with security there, but when teachers post these documents to their own websites (against our acceptable use policies), often search engines find them and students can then search and find these documents (including, often, documents with solutions added).

If we can embed a noindex tag in the actual PDF, this should help decrease the number of indexed documents on the web (we're a small organization without the capital to hire someone to search and follow up on violators of our policy).

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks :-)

Comment causes signature validation failure

Hi all,

I am writing a C++ signature library which works fine so far, what means that Adobe Reader 2015.017.20053 shows the signature toolbar, including the green sign and "Signed and all signatures are valid".

Now, I add a comment line to the document before signing it with my library.

The signing algorithm and calculation of input data for the signature calculation stays as-is (so the comment is included in that data).

The comment breaks the signature verification, because now Adobe reader says "At least one signature is invalid", and in the signature panel it says "There are errors in the formatting or information contained in this signature  (The signature byte range is invalid)".

Is there a special rule how to handle comments in signature calculation?

Or does Adobe reader verify those documents differently? Is there maybe a bug?

Is there a way to have the 'sign' box pop up instead of the digital signature menu?

I have never set any password but suddenly when I was editing a file I was asked for password. What should I do?

Previously when I wanted to edit a file, I was asked for password. When I asked the person who sent me the original file, he said he had never set up any password for the file.

Hyperlink and signature

Hi All,

I have a problem in connection with signatures within Adobe Pro. Not signature itself but see below:

From a colleague I receive an e-mail with a hyperlink to a pdf document that I need to sign within Adobe. I can sign the document but when the document is saved it is saved on the area on the server where are I was last active. It is not saved on the hyperlink in the e-mail I received. By this the feature with hyperlinks is gone. This issue with the hyperlinks has not been there from the beginning. It started for some weeks ago.

Best regards,

Johan

Error when try to renew certificate created by Adobe Reader

A digital signature (Windows based Certificate) was ceated, and now expired. It was used successfully for several years.

The user can no longer use this signature to sign Digital Signature Fields on Adobe PDF Documents.

This is the first time we try to renew such certificate. Before, we used to create a new certificate.

When try to renew the certificate using MMC Certificate snap-in (Certificate Manager), we get the following error:

"the request contains no certificate template information"

WindowsCertificateManagerSnapIn.jpg

ErrorWhenRenewWindowsCertificate.jpg

ErrorWhenRenewWindowsCertificate3.jpg

Any help to to enable use to Renew the Digital Signature Certificate will be greatly appreciated?

Sign PDF in a folder without opening Acrobat

Hi,

Our customer needs to sign multiple PDF located in a folder. I see that it seems possible using Acrobat Pro in batch mode but I was wondering if it would be possible to achieve that task without directly opening Acrobat (calling it from the command line maybe ?).

The customer is producing hundreds of thousands of PDF per month and can't open each one individually. We would like to automate this task so no human intervention is needed.

A few mornings ago, I started to sign into my HP laptop and a message: "HI" "We've made changes to your account, don't shut off your PC" Since then (after discovering this mysterious "someone" was Microsoft Edge, I have not been able to override Internet Explorer and Windows PDF. I need a fix for this. Nothing I found on Internet works for me. Please can someone help? I don't want to disconnect my service-but may be forced to if this continues.

PCI Compliance on Adobe Business Catalyst Platform

All,

We are in the process of completing threat remediation for a web site hosted on the Adobe Business Catalyst Platform. We are using  Security Metrics for our PCI compliance solution.    All of our internal IP address associated on our network currently pass PCI compliance vulnerability scans.   However, the external web site hosted on the Adobe Business Catalyst Platform fails several vulnerabilities.   Most of the vulnerabilities that require remediation, we do not have control to the back end server infrastructure to make the necessary remediation changes.    What suggestions do you have to remediate the following:

Signature certificate password help

I'm trying to set up a topaz T-S460-HSB-R electronic signature pad. I successfully installed and signed documents on one computer I clicked the sign field and a signature field came up you sign and boom your done. But upon trying the same process with the same document on another computer I get this:

Signature error.jpg

First, I don't even have any type of password although acrobat begs to differ, second I'm trying to set up this computer so that people who come in can sign the documents they fill out so it will be signed by many people and I cant have this popping up every time. I know it has something to do with the Digital ID but Im not sure how to remove it or set up a public version. Any help would be appreciated.

Master copy being saved over after signing

I have a master copy of a form my clients are to fill out and then sign, but when it is signed the form is saved over and then I have no master file. If I make it read only it fails to save, I have tried to give it a path to save as so it wont write over my master file but the best outcome is if the master file is not read only and upon signing it will save over the master AND make a save file where I want it to. I have a signature pad and I used the following java script when the form is signed:

lcbSaveAs(this, "/X/000 - Onboarding/" + this.getField("FirstName").valueAsString + " " +this.getField("LastName").valueAsString + " Application.pdf");

I also have the trusted function in the folder level javascript:

var lcbSaveAs = app.trustedFunction( function (vDoc, vPath) {

  app.beginPriv();

  vDoc.saveAs({cPath: vPath});

  app.endPriv();

});

Digital signature invalidation

We are trying to sign and certify documents but we have to have the ability to print the valid/invalid signature notation as seen in the image below if the document has been altered in any way.  We can't make our documents show the valid/invalid signature like the image when printing.  We are able to invalidate the signature but it only shows in the signature panel.  Is this a script that we need to put into Acrobat to make it do this if the document is altered or should Acrobat be doing it on it's own?  Please help!

Save to Original Folder

A strange anomaly with one user...After applying the Digital Signature to a document, the "Save As" dialog box that appears automatically doesn't start in the folder of the original document. Instead, the user has to browse back to the original folder to save it there. Any ideas why it's not defaulting to the original folder?

Thank you.
