When I add a digital signature field it does not bring up the draw signature feature

I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC v 2015.023.20070

I have opened up an xml file which is designed as a sign off sheet. I have added a signature field box in to the section which requires a digital signature, but when I open it up in Adobe Acrobat Reader and click on the signature field, it just starts the cursor, and allows for entering text; on tutorials I have seen it should bring up the 'draw signature' feature and allow you to sign it.

Sender signature

I want to be able to add my signature to a contract after the participates signed. I chose the property of "sender signature" but once the other party signs it won't let me add my signature, it files it as completed. Why is this?

Remove Encryption via Batch Processing w/Log results

I am needing to remove password encryption for 100s of files via batch processing, and I require the generation of a report displaying results of the success or failure of each file of the processed batch. (The detail of the report is necessary in case the passwords are not the same, e.g. case sensitivity).

I've tried Action Wizard>Password Security>Remove Encryption function, but the resulting log report does not indicate pass/fail. (app: Adobe Acrobat PRO v10 and 11)

Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have an old (unsupported) version of Adobe Pro (8) and would like to know if this version allows me to send pdf forms for electronic signature and return. Or if in order to do this I need to upgrade to Adobe Pro DC (which I can't afford).

Issue with Adobe Acrobat v9 Pro validating CDS signatures in documents after a version XI signature was applied.

Summary:  The Adobe
Acrobat CDS digital signing solution was tested in 3 signing environments (Version 9, X and XI) with 3 unique sequences of applying the digital signatures according to a written test plan.  The first signature applied to the test documents were “Certifying” signatures.  Subsequent signatures were applied as “Approval”signatures and the last signature.  The last signatory checked “Lock” the document when signing.

Issues Noted During Testing:

One issue was noted as follows: Adobe Acrobat v9 was unable to validate the signatures in the document after a version XI signature was applied.  Signatures
were able to be validated with Acrobat X Pro and Acrobat XI Pro and Adobe Reader XI.

Is this a know issue?

Are there any identified solutions for v9 Pro to validate version XI CDS signatures?

Is it possible to password protect the PDF documents I am filling and sending via email? If so, how do I do that?

Problem w/ LTV signing

Hi,

I have an Entrust ATTL Adobe signing certificate.  I have Adobe X Standard. When I sign a document, it states that 'The signature is valid' but 'The signature includes an embedded timestamp but it is invalid'

However, when I download the same file in Adobe DC, it states that 'The document includes an embedded timestamp' and immediately below that 'This signature is not LTV enabled and will expire after ...'    However, after I right click on the Certificate info and click on 'Add Verificaton Information' and then click on the option above it called 'Validate all' - it states the 'The signature is LTV enabled'.   Why are 2 different versions of Adobe giving different info?  Also, why do I have to go through the manual steps in Adobe DC to get Adobe to say 'The signature is LTV enabled'.  Why can't the Add Verification information happen automatically?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Kishore

Signature is not LTV or is it? -> When to use local ocsp cache... multiple documents opened

Hi,

(using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2015.023.20070)

I'm doing some tests with digital signatures in a pdf. The signatures are done programmatically with third party libraries.

There is something that i don't find right in the verification handling of the revoke status of the certificates in the chain.

test 1. using the oscp for primary certificate and the crl's for the intermediates. both are embedded in the signature.

opened in Adobe reader it says ".. is LTV enabled..."

test 2. using crl for the whole certificate chain and is embedded in the signature.

opende in Adober reader it says ".. is LTV enabled..."

Now the same.. But

opening the file from test 1 (LTV ok),

keep open,

open the file from test2 (LTV not ok)

I understand this is not a normal usecase.

But it's not ideal that having multiple files open in adobe influences the LTV status for a document.

(i suppose it says ltv not enabled, because it uses the ocsp response in the local cache, instead of the crl that was embedded)

Just for info. It can be confusing for developers.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.18 - When you login, the first PDF takes 15-20 seconds to open.

We work in a virtual environment and are testing to see if we can at least cut down the time to open up a PDF. The scenario is below:

When logging in, click on the PDF file. It takes 15-20 seconds to open. Close the file and reopen that file or any other one, it opens instantly.

Things we have troubleshooted so far are:

1. Disabling Enhanced security via preferences.

2. Disabling messages prompts upon Acrobat launch.

3. Removing the app-data folder to Adobe

Please advise if there is something else we can do to shorten the time span for opening a PDF file. Thanks in advance!

Being asked to configure digital ID when one already exists?

I have been using my digital signature for years without issue.  Lately, when I have more than one Acrobat document open, the program does not recognize that I have an existing ID and asks me to configure an ID.  When I close the documents and reopen one at a time, my digital ID is available for me to use.  Is there some kind of bug?

Reader DC Freezes after digitally signing (certificate) and saving as.

Hi,

I'm trying to digitally sign a PDF with a certificate.

I can select the range where to put the signature, then it asks me to save as.

But then the program freezes.

The signed document is created in the directory though, but I need to close the frozen window and open the created one to continue.

This is a new laptop, so the system requirements are met.

I've tried this with another computer with the same certificate and all goes well.

But none of the users on this computer can sign the document. (including administrators)

I've already contacted GlobalSign, but there is nothing wrong with the certificate.

I reinstalled Adobe Reader DC, I even tried it with Reader XI. With the latter I couldn't get to the signing part, it was disabled.

There's also nothing wrong with the PDF document. I tried it with a blank DOCX that I saved as PDF.

I tried renaming the Security and Preferences folders in AppData -> same problem.

I even disabled all plugins manually (one for one)

Does anybody have a clue on this?

Kind regards,

Jelle

Multiple signature fields in a PDF

I'm using Send For Signature to send three documents, each of which needs a signature from the recipient. Once one of them is signed though, the other signature fields no longer work. I tried giving them the same field name so that each would populate when one is filled in and that didn't work. Is it possible to do this, or do I have to send each one separately?

Certificate CA recently removed from AATL?

Hi,

we been using Certum certificates to sign PDF documents. Recently I noticed the Certum CA was removed from the AATL?

So I have got the following questions @ Adobe:

1) Is there a way, to validate signatures with Certum certifcates signed in the past?

2) Which certificates are guaranteed not to be removed from the AATL to avoid such a disaster in future!

Thank you & regards

I recently moved over to Adobe Pro DC, when I go into a PDF to sign with a signature I click "Fill & Sign" however the screen that should bring up options just indicates "Retrieving your Information..." I never get the option to sign any PDF document. Any one see this issue before and the fix?

My account is setup with a Pro license and I have successfully signed in; I have rights and can use all other tools within the program; My OS is WIndows10; Other users I work with have no issues; I have tried creating a new profile and getting a new latop in case it was an image/hardware issue.

Hi there,

I have just been issued a Digital Certificate from Exostar FIS, for Digital Signature (as detailed in the KU extension). In the Digital ID and Trusted Certificate Settings menu I can see it, I can view it, but I can't select "Use for Signing". Why not?

Cert details:

Signature algorithm: SHA256 RSA

Validity ends: 2018/03/07

Key usage: Digital Signature

EKU: Client Authentication; 1.3.6.1.5.2.3.4

Public Key: RSA (2048 bits)

Location: Windows Cert Store

Many thanks.
