Hi I am new  this forum and I am by no means an expert in all things computer. I have Adobe reader on my laptop using with Windows 10.  Somewhere along the line I have asked for all pdfs to be password protected, but can't remember where or when. I don't have acrobat on my PC just reader. So what has happened recently, is that everytime I scan a document into my pc via ( Not another pdf scanner) and save it, it demands a password when opening. I have sent  it to myself to check and this always happens. Same when I send it to anyone else, the document demands a password.  If I use my husbands PC and same software no problem I scan in save to a pen drive and no password required to open. So I have eliminated the scanning issue, you can't do this in the scanner program. I have looked at all the usual help on the internet but it seems that I can only remove this password in  Adobe Acrobat which I don't have. I vaguely recall doing something ages ago but I think that was in Firefox. So hope someone out there can help. Please note I am not over technical, I can follow simple instructions but when people start saying " go into file line such and such" I am lost.

How do I configure my Adobe Acrobat Pro DC documents to accept actual signatures from a Wacom CTH-480?

Background:

  • We are an agricultural company that is finally going paperless.  We have a requirement from HR, to get all of our I-9s, W-4s, employment applications, health insurance forms and banking forms digitized.
  • I have created all the digitize forms in Adobe Acrobat DC (version 12), with all the check boxes, radio buttons and signature/date blocks required.
  • HR will be using a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, with a connected Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch, small (CTH-480) to sign documents.

Problem:

  • Currently, when I click in the signature block, Adobe brings up the Sign Document dialogue box and in the Sign As: dropdown box, allows me to select New ID...
  • If I select the option for A new digital ID I want to create now, I can go through the whole setup and create a new "digital signature."
  • This isn't what we want.
  • I want to be able to click the option for a new digital ID and be able to actually sign the document electronically, from the Wacom signature pad.

Question:

What do I need (Software- or Hardware-related) to accomplish what I want to do?  I am on a limited budget and don't have lots and lots of money to throw at the solution.

Adding Digital Signature Field Problems

Version: Adobe Pro DC 2017.01.12.20098

I can no longer add a Digital Signature field into my fillable PDF forms for some reason.

I can add a Signature Field but it is a "Text Field" so when I use Adobe Sign to send out for Signature its does not ask the user to sign those "Text Fields" so when the user submits the form back those forms are blank.

Can I get some suggestions on how to insert these signature fields??

Thanks

Why do I have to constantly sign in to do a digital signature?

Why do I have to sign in to Adobe to register the program every time I move from one IP to another?  I should only have to register it once and be able to digitally sign documents whereever I am without having to sign into Adobe.  Is this a bug?

Acrobat XI stops responding when applying document redactions

Very frustrated from trying multiple times to redact information from several documents.

I mark certain words for redaction.  Then I apply redactions.  The applying of the document redactions starts, but freezes/hangs within seconds of starting.

I can end the task using the task manager and when I reopen Acrobat, it gives me the option to open the previous document.

I have waited for Acrobat to apply the redactions as long as 3.5 hours with no luck.

Anyone else experience this?  Anyone have any ideas as to how to get Acrobat to apply redactions rather than hang?

Thank you,

edsager

PDF Security with Form Fields

$

Hi

I'm setting up secure PDF with Form Fields that allow people to answer questions in the PDF.

I've set to allow "Commenting, filling in Form Fields etc" and UNCHECKED the box to "Allow copying of Content"

My problem occurs when I open the secured document and add some text to one of the form fields, my MAC says "The original Document cant be changed, so a copy of the original has been created".
When I save that copy and re-open, the security setting seem to have been wiped and any of the Content in the PDF can be copied. What's going wrong here and how can I prevent this from happening?
Thanks

Sorry but I couldnt find how to add a new comment onto this discussion that I  posted a few days ago.  Sorry for the absence but been dealing with a close relative who is undergoing Chemotherapy at the moment.  After a short breather.. here I am again.  So my original post was this:

Hi I am new  this forum and I am by no means an expert in all things computer. I have Adobe reader on my laptop using with Windows 10.  Somewhere along the line I have asked for all PDFs to be password protected, but can't remember where or when. I have managed to screen capture what happens. Its always in adobe reader.  I take the point that I can't set or unset a password in reader. I must have set a password demand somewhere and as I said in my original post, vaguely recall putting a password demand for all pdfs in somewhere but can't  recall where or how.  Don't know if the capture helps but happy to try anything as this is driving me nuts because everytime I send a pdf via email to someone (something I am doing a lot at the moment related to the health problems with my husband) it demands a password from the recipient. so they can't open the pdf without a password.

Signed and all signatures are valid, but with unsigned changes after the last signature

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and initially had problems that elicited this message:

"At least one signature has problems. Please fill out the following form."

This message was eliminated by doing the following:

  1. 1. Click on “Signature Panel Button”
(upper right) and the signature panel opens to the left

    2. Right click on "Rev.1: Signed by DocuSign, Inc."

    3. Click on “Show Signature Properties”

    4. Click “Show Certificate button” (under the summary tab) - the Certificate
    Viewer opens

    5. Click “Trust” tab.

    6. Click “Add to Trusted Identities”

    7. Adobe Security window opens, click "OK"

    8. Click OK, and again until you exit from the all the dialogue boxes.

Next time you open up a PDF, the DocuSign Signature should be valid (trusted).

Once the PDF form was closed and re-opened, the first message was gone but replaced by:

"Signed and all signatures are valid, but with unsigned changes after the last signature. Please fill

out the following form."

Now how do I get rid of this second, unwanted message?

Thank you.

Can it be set up so a password is required to insert a saved signature - for a signature as an image/saved signature from Fill and Sign menu, not a digital adobe id signature.

when using fill and sign, how do I use the same initials or signature on multiple lines without having to click on sign each time?

How to Flatten Stamps in DC?

$

Upgraded from XI to DC.  In XI you can place a stamp, in our case an Engineer's Seal, then sign with a visible signature.  When you go to save, it will prompt you to save the file as (filename)-signed.pdf and then flatten the signature as well as the stamp, removing the stamp from the comments and making it no longer selectable.  How do I do this in DC?  DC appears to only flatten the signature and any text you've added but excluded Stamps  ... (side note being prompted with the (filename)-signed.pdf is a missed feature as well, DC appears to just want to overwrite the existing file, is it possible to get that back?)

flattening/locking PDFs

Is there a way to flatten PDFs in Acrobat DC? I need to be able to lock all the items (boxes, stamps, etc) I have created on a PDF while allowing other people to mark up the PDF and add their own items. I tried password protecting and encrypting, but it doesn't allow people to make changes to the document.

Password Security Policy

I have Acrobat Pro DC installed and I accidentally changed the setting of the password security policy to require a specific password.  I can see how to create a new policy but I cannot seem to create one that doesn't require a specific password.  I would like to have a policy like came with the original installation that would prompt me for clicking on requiring password to open then add the password.

I would appreciate your help.

Can't use JPEG or PNG image for scanned signature, only PDF

Hello,

I'm going through the process of having all of my customers creating a self-signed digital ID and including their actual signature so that I can match it with physically signed documents.

As this is a huge task, I am creating a guide for my customers to follow but I have come across a huge hurdle in regards to importing a scanned signature.

I am asking all customers to install or update to Acrobat Reader XI however when in the process of creating a signature appearance there is no option to import a JPEG, PNG or any file other than a PDF.

My version of Acrobat X Pro gives the options but Reader XI doesn't. The issue is the customers cannot crop a scanned PDF using Reader XI so if they use their scanned PDF the signature is unacceptable.

Could you please tell me why there is no option other than PDF??????

I am getting this error while installing new digital id from token, Adobe Acrobat could not find any new digital IDs. If your digital ID is on a hardware token, please make sure it is plugged in and the token interface is properly configured. Contact your system administrator for further assistance.

10.11.6 CAC signing not working with 11.0.17 Acrobat

I have verified that I can sign on a 10.11.5 mac but when the OS is updated to 10.11.6 with the same Acrobat installation signing fails.  The certificates show as valid and are used for login so I know they are valid.  Any solutions so far?
