Can Acrobat DC Send For Signature Recipients Sign With Smart Card
Hello,
When a document is sent out to recipients for signature using Acrobat DC and its associated Cloud service it appears that the recipient is given two signing options - (1) either type one's name directly or (2) sign via touch screen. Is it possible to send a document out for signature and present the user with the opportunity to sign using a smartcard/CAC in cases where this might be preferred or required?
Thank you,
Long term digital signature validation - embedding OCSP responses?
I am looking to see if there is a way to embed the OCSP response at signing for long term digital signature validation. We have a two-fold issue:
- Documents digitally signed will eventually expire, and for audit purposes we need to determine if those signatures were valid at the time of signing well past their expiration date
- When using the "Include signature's revocation status" option in Acrobat XI, it embeds the entire CRL (currently 3+ MB). This causes an issue when we get above 7 or 8 signatures because the file gets too big to email based on our email attachment size restrictions. We're getting hit hard on storage requirements because the files can get upwards of 20+ MB, and we sign a ton of PDFs.
My focus is to see if the OCSP response can be embedded at the time of signing into the PDF as opposed to the entire CRL (the OCSP response should be much smaller). Maybe I'm just not reading the manuals close enough, but I don't see this option anywhere. Any suggestions? We're also looking at third party tools to address this, but we'd prefer to use something native to Adobe if possible.
Thanks in advance.
How on earth can I just make a form that people can sign??
What I am trying to do is create a contract that people can fill out by simply clicking on text boxes and then typing in their pertaining text then at the bottom there will be a signature box which they should be able to click and then have the option to draw their signature. No digital id crap, no certificates. just a simple drawn signature.
So I started with a word document. Coverted it to PDF. I have acrobat 11, I used the form wizard and let adobe find specific fields. Edited the fields to my likeing to include on signature box and then saved the document. Took FOREVER to find out I had to go through a special process of saving to allow others to sign. So I go to File- save as other...- reader extended pdf...- enable more tools <-- that allows me to allow them to sign it.
Now when I open my document with reader it has the draw your signature greyed out!!! WTH!! I need help to give that option cause this is going to old people and they can't understand the digital signature long process.

error message when try to print pdf: "insufficient data for image"
Part of my job involves creating pdf documents, inserting pdf maps, locking the documents to prevent alteration but allow printing, and sending them to clients. Recently I updated to Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard. I have since had trouble printing the pdf documents I create; I get an error message "insufficient data for image". Maps in the document don't show up and it can't be printed. If I re-create the document and don't put the permissions password on it, the document is fine. But I need to be able to lock my pdf documents to prevent alteration! Please help!

Redaction Error
The newest version of Adobe Acrobat is not redacting properly the way the past versions have. We have sensitive content that we need to redact i.e. names of individuals. For this we need to leave the first initial of names. When we "mark for redaction" we use the cursor to mark all but the first letter of names, click "apply redactions" and in some instances the first letter is visible and in most other instances it is blacked out even though it is not highlighted. How do we change this? Is there a bug in the system that is allowing for more redaction than is marked by the user? HELP.
Thank you

Restricting content copying
Does anyone know if it's possible to restrict content copying, such as images, but still allow for text copying? We have Acrobat XI and DC, and neither seem to allow me to choose what type of content to restrict.

Unable to remove PDF password.
I need to remove a password from a PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.5. I open the file, using the password, go to file>Properties and select "No Security" from the Change Security drop down menu. I enter the document password when prompted and I get a message saying the password is incorrect. What am I missing? Is this referring to some other password?
How to locate a digital signature file on my hard drive?
Hi everybody,
I'm trying to locate the file (or at least it's extention) that is generated at the first setup of a digital signature.
The idea is to make a backup copy of this signature.
Any clue?
Thanks a lot.
fill & sign tool is grayed out v. due to: a dynamic XFA file format upload failure
in trying to complete a bank form, the fill & sign tool is grayed out. I tried to upload it after signing in to adobe to do the same but it indicated that the file is a dynamic XFA file format but encouraged me to use the sign/fill feature. What to do? There has to be a way around this.
Give multiple PDF documents each document an individual password
Hi there,
Each week I get 400 different documents. I have to distribute these documents to 400 different people with each an individual password.
Is there a way to encript the document in a efficient way?
Thanks in advance.
Ben
Is the "Sanitize Document" tool available in both the Pro and Standard version of Adobe Acrobat DC? Or is it only available in the Pro version?
I know the redact feature is only available in the Pro version, just wasn't sure about the "Sanitize Document" feature. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Automate RFC3161 timestamps
Hi,
I was wondering if there is any possibility (jscript, actions, etc.) to automate RFC3161 timestamps for PDF/A documents. For technical reasons here in Germany I need to separate a qualified electronic signature (provided by our new ID-Cards) and a timestamp, as the former (for whatever stupid reason) does not support timestamps. It would thus be very convenient if I could batch process all PDF/A files in a certain folder and apply an RFC3161 timestamp. The signature needs to be applied with another program (as our ID-cards are not compatible to Acrobat).
Best regards,
Klayman
Cannot place a signature on a PDF document
I just encountered an issue with a specific PDF issued to me by a vendor. I am normally able to "place signature" on any PDF document. This one however, only allows me to place a certificate-based digital signature. How can I go about simply placing my signature on the document?
I also do not have my serial number as I purchased the software as an option through Lenovo. They don't have my serial numbers and neither does Adobe evidently. Not the greatest customer service experience I've had.

Why not allow vector-format signature image?
Trying to sign a PDF file with a signature image. Am very surprised to see that only raster-format image files are allowed. Vector files were OK in previous versions, why not now?
