Adding a signature image but with others not to be able to take it from my pdf

Hello everyone,

I would like your insight on the following:

How can I add a signature image but with others not to be able to take it from my pdf.

I add a signature image by copy & paste it on the document but I don't want others to be able to take the signature.

I would like to do this without locking the file with password

I would appreciate your feedback on this

In Acrobat XI Pro, after placing a watermark on a PDF, applying an A / Web certificate, then saving as a PDF-A, the text in the document becomes unsearchable.

After adding a watermark in Acrobat XI Pro, and A/Web certifying and saving as a PDF-A, the text in the PDF becomes unsearchable, and it seems that the pages were flattened.  Under save settings, I can see radio boxes that I can uncheck to make sure the pages don't become flattened. This results in a error, and the PDF does not get it's A/Web certification.  Is this a glitch?  I can search text in an A/Web certified document with no watermark, just fine.  I can search text in a document with a watermark and no A/Web certification, just fine.  Just not with both items applied.  Why is the watermark causing a conflict?  Is there a way to fix or get around this?

Thanks!

i cannot sign a digitally signed document

I have received a document that has been digitally signed. I need to apply my signature to countersign the contract. When I click 'Fill and Sign' on the right, I do not see my normal options for pasting in my signature. Is there a way to countersign a document like this? Or am I stuck printing it off and manually signing it. I have saved these PDFs as a Word file before, only to convert back into PDF. There has to be a way to get this done, but I am to much of a novice in Adobe. I have searched for a solution but have come up with nothing.

I appreciate any advice or help anyone can offer, thank you.

Security isn't working in Acrobat

I send secured pdf's of ads I design to my clients. They will sometimes share with my competitors. I now realize that there are several 'free' services online that will 'unlock' the pdf. I tried pdfunlock.com and it worked! I could grab every image, logo... etc. without using the password. Does anyone know how we can protect the files so unauthorized users can't access them?

Adobe Cust Serv had told me that it is NOT possible to e-sign in BLUE ink;  but I'd overheard earlier that it IS possible, though couldn't track down that solution.  Thanks for help!

adobe reader x: Italian version does not have sign button

Hi,

I know that the support for Adobe Reader X it is terminated. However I'm still using it and I cannot upgrade since a software that it used in my company it is only compatible with latest version 10.1.16.

The English version provides the sign function in the toolbar. While in the Italian version the sign button is not available and I cannot add it to toolbar menu.

The sign function is present in the menu under view->show/hide->navigation panel even if it is shadowed and I cannot click it.

I tried to manually install the sign function as described here http://www.adobe.com/it/special/security/software/download.html without success. Any suggestions? Have I to use the English version?

Than you

Signature" tool is missing from my" Acrobat DC

I just bought Acrobat DC about an hour ago. I'm going to be using it extensively to send documents to clients for signature. I had been using Acrobat XI Standard, but when I updated it last night the program froze every time I try to do anything in a document. That's a whole other story...

So I now open the document I was working on using Acrobat DC, and when I go to send it for signature, there seems to be no way to do that I went to the help section, and it tells me to open the "Send for Signature" tool, but there isn't any "Send for Signature" tool. What gives?

And I have to vent a little bit. I can't believe how lousy Adobe customer service is. The only way I can get help with software I purchased an hour ago is to go on to this forum. There is no chat help available. This whole experience has enough hours of my time, oh which means business for me. I was forced to buy a product I don't think that I really needed, and then there is no support for. I expected from a lesser company than Adobe, but I'm hugely disappointed to have to deal with this.

When signed, the signature goes to the next page.

I put the signature fields on one page, but when it gets signed, the signature(s) goes the next page. How do I keep all of the signatures to one page?

I am making electronic time sheets that people sign every week. It was a Microsoft Word file that was PDF'd. It is a landscape file with the signatures on the right hand side and the approver signature at the bottom of the page. Thank you.

Scam or Viruses posing as Flash Update!!

Anyone else having a "bona fide" looking Adobe Flash update webpage show up with a separate Download UI window claiming to be Adobe Flash, BUT the website address bar says, "https://ziejaweleda.org/9903093391632/9903093391632/146161208081479/FlashPlayer.exe" ??  Just earlier today, but I think it has happened once before also.

I find this HIGHLY ALARMING!! It replaced a Wunderground weather page while I was away from the computer a few hours.  Luckily, I didn't just assume it really was legit, so I didn't click it.  WTH is going on?  I'm pretty sure Adobe would want to know if some hacker is using their "look" to install nasty shtuff on clients' PC's!

BUT... if ziejaweleda.org IS Adobe under another name for some CRAZY reason, WE SHOULD KNOW!!!  AND...you should SKIP forcing posters to CHOOSE A COMMUNITY when there's NO Flash and NO Security or any proper category!!  Wasted my time trying to help you, Adobe!

Acrobat Update 11.0.15 - broke Fill and sign

Acrobat Pro XI recently updated to 11.0.15 and now forms cannot be signed, If they open in Reader DC they can be signed, and if I install a trial version of Acrobat DC it works. I have tried this on 3 different workstations. All of them worked, updated them and now none of them do. When you select add signature you can see your signature, you can drag and place it where you want to, but as soon as you left click to execute. the signature disappears. Again this does not happen in Reader DC or in Acrobat DC. Only in Acrobat XI 11.0.15

OCSP Archive Cutoff

Hi all

Does Acrobat supports the "Archive Cutoff" extension in an OCSP response when validating an expired signature ? Can't seem to make it work, that is Acrobat revocation validation fails with "OCSP response expired or not yet valid". The Archive cutoff does not seem to be taken into account.

Thanks for any help

OCSP validation: treating thisUpdate as the response signature date. Bug ?

$

Hi all

According to RFC 6960, the following date fields in an OCSP response are defined as:

thisUpdateThe most recent time at which the status being indicated is known by the responder to have been correct.
producedAt

The time at which the OCSP responder signed this response.

When validating a signer against an OCSP response, Acrobat seems to consider the thisUpdate field as the date the OCSP response was signed. For example:

An OCSP with the following fields:

thisUpdate: Fri Apr 29 07:29:58 EDT 2016

nextUpdate: Fri Apr 29 10:40:38 EDT 2016

producedAt: Fri Apr 29 10:35:38 EDT 2016

will yield the following result in Acrobat:

The OCSP Response was signed by "OCSP Authority" on 2016/04/29 07:29:58 -04'00' (<--- thisUpdate) and is valid until 2016/04/29 10:40:38 -04'00'.

Aside from showing erroneous information, this becomes a real problem when the OCSP Responder is using validation information which is older than the responder certificate (thisUpdate < responder certificate notBefore). In that scenario, validation fails with not yet valid exception since thisUpdate is used as signature date, which is before the certificate existence.

Any info on this ? Am I wrong with my assumptions ?

Is there a way to get around an open password?

I scanned a multipage document to my email address (I work in a government building, that is the only way to scan documents). I use Windows 7 and the latest Adobe Acrobat. I perform this exact same function many times without issue.  This document ended up with an open password which I do not know. I never would have placed a password on any document and I wouldn't know how. I am still listed as the document author and owner.  Since several weeks went by before I attempted to open it, I didn't realize the problem immediately.  I was unable to remember any unusual issues, and conveniently lost track of the original documents.  Any possibility of releasing this document's security?

Acrobat DC - Making clipart in pdf secure but not requiring a password to open?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!  I am confused by the security options and have been searching for answers but not quite getting the answer I need.  I am creating a pdf that will be available as an instant download on a website.  I need to secure the document so that the clipart in the document is "locked" down but the text is editable.  The security settings - and it may be the way things are worded - are throwing me off.  I do not want to require a password for someone else to open the document.  I just want to secure the images/clipart.  What settings would I need to use to accomplish this?  It seems that everything is requiring a password, which I don't want.

Thanks!
