Can't create a digital signature?

$

I just got a new computer and installed an older version of Adobe that I purchased a couple years ago.  Adobe X Pro installed fine but it wouldn't let me register...the simple message was that it couldn't register at this time please try again later.  It works fine and does what I need it to do (print reports to a PDF format) but I cannot create a new digital signature.  When I go through the process the last item creating a password and when I input any password it gives an error message that the "password doesn't match" (there is only on password input so that doesn't really make sense).

Do I have to deactivate the software on the old computer first to get this to work?  I have to be able to apply a digital signature to my work products so if I deactivate the software on the old computer and it doesn't allow me to create on the new one then I have no work-around.

I know barely enough about Acrobat to be dangerous but need some help as I don't want to have to buy a new version for my basic use.

Help Please!

When using digital Signature, user has to "login" to digital ID file to use it

we use a log of digital signatures. each users adobe is configured to allow them to draw the rectangle signature option.

lately, one user, when she goes to sign a pdf, it asks her to create a new signature, although she would have one already.

when i got to "Edit, Preferences, Signatures, Identities & Trusted Certificates" , then Digital ID file, its status is set to "logout"

once we log back in, she can then use the rectangle signature option.

Can you advise, why adobe is logging out the Digital ID file?

thanks

Selectively secure elements in PDF?

Looking for a way to allow selective editing of specific text elements in a PDF (for example: a name and date on a flyer) without allowing editing of the rest of the copy or graphic elements. I'd rather not rasterize the whole thing apart from the few text elements I want them to be able to edit and as far as I can tell I can't turn existing text into fields.

Please advise, any help would be much appreciated. Files were originally made in Illustrator.

Mail Merge using Acrobat XI plug-in with Password Protection

Hi There

I am ateempting to mail merge to PDF using the Acrobat Pro plug in in Word. The Mail merge also says it will send to email messages, which is what i want to do. I have found a very helpful discussion from 2012 which explains how to change the printer properties of the Adobe PDF printer, which the plug in uses, so that it uses security settings but when i turn on the security settings either to 'Use last know secuirty settings' or 'reconfirm security for each job' the mail merge just won't complete at all. It doesn't even give me an error message it just says 'cannot complete mail merge'.

I know that i can create the pdf documents without security and then use an Action to password protect everything in a given file but i would still end up emailing them out indivdually which is a chore.

Obviously my main question is above but if there is any way in Acrobat XI to add passwords en-masse having a different password for each file, that would be stupendous but i have a feeling that is just a pipe dream.

Create New Signature

I have Acrobat XI.  I need to change the company name in my digital signature.  I've done it before, but cannot figure out how to do it now.  I've looked through the help area and believe I'm in the correct area (Windows) Edit/Preferences/signatures.  I've titled the new signature, and see a preview of what it should look like, but it gives me no where to enter in my name, company, etc.  Help?

How do I sign a document multiple times and save only once?

Adobe standard XI. Every time I sign a document I have to save it. I need to sign many documents in multiple locations within the forms we use pretty much all day. How do I sign in multiple locations with my digital signature and save the file only when I am done?

Allow multiple digital signatures

I am creating a form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro and need places for two different people to sign.  I can put in the digital signature fields, but when the first person signs the form digitally and then sends to the second person, the second person gets this message when trying to add their digital signature:

"The identity of the document certifier cannot be verified. Proceed anyway?"

If they click yes, they have to create a new digital signature and it doesn't pull up the one they already created.

How to send fillable forms to be signed via email?

My boss is a doctor and she wants me to make her pdf docs fillable forms. Problem is, she wants the patient to be able to fill out form in there email.  Is this possible with this product and if so. How do I do it? How do I give my boss full access to tracking the signatures. And will the forms still be usable even after my trail period has ended.

Digital ID - configuration required

I use several forms that were created in Adobe Pro and have signature fields.  The forms are completed by other people outside of our organization, then emailed to us for signature.  For the past 24 months, the signer has been able to touch the signature field, choose their signature, type their password, and sign the document.  All of this was completed in Adobe Reader DC.  Starting yesterday, when the signer touches the signature field, a box pops up indicating that a Digital ID Configuration Required.  If you touch "Configure Digital ID," you then have to search for the signer's signature file, enter the signers password, then select the signature file again, and then enter the password again to be able to sign.

If I open Acrobat Reader DC and get into signatures, Adobe can "find" the signature files.  If I open a PDF file in Reader DC, I have the problem stated above - it seems like the program no longer "sees" all of the signature files that it used to see, and which are still there.

How can this be corrected ASAP?

Password protection on PDF

I have been told that if you password protect an Adobe PDF document there are software programs that can unlock it.  I sell horse racing tips from my website www.racetips.club but I want to give my customers a unique password and lock the document.  Is this a waste of time.  i am trying to prevent the document from being emailed around to other non-customers.  This happens a lot when people subscribe to sites such as mine.  i suppose that they could pass on the password as well but it would be an extra level of control.  Are there any other security features that would stop people passing on my PDF file.

How do I get the 'Add Signature' option to appear under the sign menu in order to sign a PDF with my signature?

Hi,

I am trying to follow this guide for signing a PDF document.

Signing PDFs in Adobe Acrobat DC

I can get to this point:

While there are two signatures already there from previous documents, I need to add a third. There is no 'Add Signature' option.

Does something need to happen for this to be enabled?

I'm running Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Release Continuous | Version 2015.023.20056

Windows 10 x64 SP1 (Version 1607Build 14393.693)

Thanks!

AATL - Invalid Policy Constraint in Acrobat X but valid in XI and DC

Hi,

We have AATL certificates and have found that signatures done with these certificates fail validation in Acrobat X (tested in 10.1.16). The reason is: Invalid Policy Constraint.

These same signed documents validate successfully in Acrobat XI and DC. Is there any known issue in Acrobat X regarding AATL validation, ie making sure the signers certificate contains the policy defined by the AATL issuing CA ?

Here is the policy constraint at the issuing CA level:

Here is the same policy at the signer level:

Cannot create a digital ID/signature

I tried in vain to create a digital signature to enable me to sign and authorize a pdf doc today. With each attempt Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.2 asks for a digital file (defaults to a path of it's choosing) and a password.  I have no idea which password it wants.  No matter what I enter I get the same message: "Passwords don't match"  Don't match what??

I spent over an hour with Tech Support Chat rep who commandeered my desktop and largely accomplished nothing.

Can you add a title to a signature?

Using Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.16, Windows 7 Pro.  I would like my title to display with my signature.  Is there a way to add this?  I can type my title as location, but that doesn't make sense.

One persons signs and is valid. Next person signing invalidates the next? No edit to the document. All local.

I have a form that has two signature boxes. When one is signed and sent to another person (or even signed again by the person who signs first) the first signature is invalidated. No edits are made to the document prior to the second signature. This is all local (not on a server), saved to the person's laptop. All certificates are valid as they work for other documents. It is just this one document. Any ideas?

Signature" tool is missing from my" Acrobat DC

I just bought Acrobat DC about an hour ago. I'm going to be using it extensively to send documents to clients for signature. I had been using Acrobat XI Standard, but when I updated it last night the program froze every time I try to do anything in a document. That's a whole other story...

So I now open the document I was working on using Acrobat DC, and when I go to send it for signature, there seems to be no way to do that I went to the help section, and it tells me to open the "Send for Signature" tool, but there isn't any "Send for Signature" tool. What gives?

And I have to vent a little bit. I can't believe how lousy Adobe customer service is. The only way I can get help with software I purchased an hour ago is to go on to this forum. There is no chat help available. This whole experience has enough hours of my time, oh which means business for me. I was forced to buy a product I don't think that I really needed, and then there is no support for. I expected from a lesser company than Adobe, but I'm hugely disappointed to have to deal with this.
