Is the digital signature conserved from a signed .docx converted to .pdf ?

Hi!

I would like to know, before purchase or even try Acrobat XI Pro, the folowing question:

If I sign a Microsoft Word (2010) .docx, and then I convert it to Adobe .pdf with Acrobat XI Pro; is my digital signature yet considered always as a signature, or have I to re-sign it in Acrobat ?

(I think it should have to be conserved, to be really a signature, but am not sure about the technical apsects.)

Thank you in advance for your answers.

We are a State agency and currently using AcrobatX1 with Windows 7/64bit. We use the stamp feature to approve pdf documents. Is there a way to secure the stamp once it is placed in the document so that it can not be edited or changed?

Thank you.

Outdated information about CDS

I have a question regarding the CDS program - if I misplaced it please relocate the thread. Thanks.

All information I could find is here:

http://www.adobe.com/misc/pki/cds_cp.html

However,

1. The file is outdated. There is at least a version #15 from 2007 (or maybe even a newer one)

2. The list of  partners able to provide a CDS ID is from 2005 and quite outdated. (Have a look in the reader there is a list of nearly 30 providers)

So where can I get the latest CDS Cerificate Policy document and a list of all current providers?

Thank!

Is there a way to limit who can sign a PDF form?

Morning,

I am using Acrobat X with Livecycle ES2

Does anyone know a way to limit who can sign a PDF with their digital signature?

For example:

I create a form in LiveCycle and put the finished form in to a public managers directory in Windows.

For this specific form only “Manager2” and “Manager8” are authorized to sign it with their digital signatures. All other 15 managers can open the form, but when they attempt to sign it, get an error saying they are not authorized, or something similar.

Is this possible within Adobe Acrobat?

Note: Please do not suggest adjusting the Windows file/directory permissions, as this is not an option.

I am open ears for all Adobe suggestions.

Kindly advise.

Thanks,

K

Unlocking Security Feature on .pdf

Is there a way to break the security lock that is placed on a .pdf form by the author without the password? We are having to print, then scan to .pdf, in order to enter data on a number of State Government Forms. This reduces the quality some what unfortunately and we would much rather be able to enter the data directly onto the original downloaded .pdf. - Thanks, M E Brooks

How to resctrict a signature appearance

Is there a way to restrict the signature appearance of a signature field and save the appearance so it follows the form? I want to have the users open the form and sign with a fixed signature appearance, without them having the option to change the appearance or choose from another appearance in the "signature appearance library".

I have tried using the JavaScript function and appearance filter seed values, but I cannot get it to work. Also, it seems I need to refer to a signature appearance in the library to get this to work. Is the signature appearances saved and follows the document

removing digital signatures created in a previous version of adobe acrobat pro

I recently installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro, which required the removal of my previous version (8 Pro). I have several PDF docs created in (8 pro) with signature fields. I reuse these docs inputting updated info. When I do I clear the signature field, and place a new signature. After installed (X Pro) I can no longer clear the signature fields to place an updated signature. I am assuming that the new installation deleted my old signature ID that I created with (8 pro). Is there any way to clear my old signatures?

Replacing the Acrobat logo in digital signatures

I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.8 on a Macintosh.  When I create a digital signature, there is a checkbox option in the "Configure Signature Appearance" window (under Acrobat->Preferences->Security->Digital Signatures) which, when checked, displays the Acrobat logo in my digital signatures.  Is there a way I can replace that logo with my corporate logo, made suitably transparent in a PDF like I have for a scanned version of my wet-ink signature?  In this way, I can create various versions of my signature for personal use (with just my transparent scanned wet-ink signature) and corporate use (with both my transparent scanned wet-ink signature on the left and my transparent scanned corporate logo on the right and other information like reason for signature, location, contact email, etc.).  After all, since the document is a PDF, it's already obvious it's Adobe Acrobat.  What isn't obvious is who signed it and who the signer is affiliated with (i.e., me and my company, not Adobe).

I can open a password-encryption and digitally signed PDF file using Acrobat X Standard but cannot remove the password protection.

Can anyone help me remove the password encryption?  The Acrobat only allows to set passsord encryption before adding digital signature to a PDF file.  Can I sign a PDF file and then encrypt it with password?  Thanks.

Hi

I have several thousand documents that I would like to share with someone.

However these are sourced from multiple people.

Some have passwords and some do not.

I would like to identify the the Security Method of each document so I know which ones are protected & the level of encryption.

I can go to Properties > Security however this will be extremely time consuming.

Does anyone have a solution?

Error when applying security policy that was created

Hello.  For quite some time, I receive an error message in Acrobat Pro when I attempt to apply one of my security policies that I created.  The error message reads, "Data or file contents are corrupt or not properly formatted."  As a result, I have to re-create my security policies each time I log on to my computer.  Has anyone experienced this same issue and were you able to resolve it?  It would be helpful to get rid of this issue, as it becomes inconvenient to have to recreate all of my security policies each time I log in to my computer.  Many thanks for your insight/assistance!

Will I need to obtain a separate https certificate?

Hi,

I have created a PDF form in Acrobat and wish to use the eSignature feature for customers' electronic signatures as my form involves bank details for transactions.

Will I need to obtain a separate https certificate so that customers are taken to a secure payment system OR does Adobe Acrobat's eSignature feature take users to an already secure page/system?

Thanks.

Allowing page extraction with a change permissions password enforced

How can I enforce a change permission password for my PDF and still allow for page extraction?  All settings I have tried result in page extraction being not allowed.  I've seen on another discussion site that enabling printing and selecting any option other than the last two for the configuration Changes Allowed should allow for page extraction.

Adobe acrobat update not allowing E-Signature to work

My manager Stanley uses adobe acrobat 8 and an e-certificate to approve purchase requests, he receives these via email. He is using Microsoft Office 2010 by the way. When he reviews the form and approves it he attaches a digital signature to it as proof of approval and sends it to accounting. This was done where he would start by forwarding the email then editing the attached adobe form. This would allow for the edit to automatically save back into the email revising the attachment and not requiring to save the file somewhere and having to reattach it. Since he got an update this no longer works just for signed forms (text edits on the form can be saved back OK). Do we need to create a new signature, and how can we resolve this?

It looks like the certicate has has expired. I need to create a new signature.

I need to create a document that has "read only" access to some users. It cannot be attached to an email or "dragged" into another location. Does Adobe Acrobat provide this?
