How do I sign a PDF with a certificate using Acrobat Reader DC? This works fine in Adobe Reader XI.

Using Acrobat Reader XI I can sign a PDF document with a Digital Certificate. After updating to Acrobat Reader DC I can't figure out how to do this. I see where I can sign with an image of mu signature, but how do I sign with a certificate?

I have a government document that is digitally signed.

How can I create an unsigned version of the document so that I can add annotations?

When I open up the PDF and want to sign it, I go to the Fill & Sign tab and it's not loading any options.  How do I change that?  Why is that happening?

Acrobat 11 Standard digital signature box hangs for 60 seconds on first run

I have a user that has a problem when going to sign a document. After a reboot attemt to sign and when the box pops up to actually sign something it just hangs with the fields all grayed out for about a minute. Subsequent attempts there seems to be no issue only the first time. This behavior started a few weeks ago. I have another user without the problem. Any ideas what could be causing it to take so long the first time? Very frustrating for the user.

How do I get the actual signature to show in a document using XI?

Been using Adobe for years and with the new update to XI I am having a heck of a time getting the signature to show in the document.  To check this I opened another document and was easily able to grab my signature and place it where I want.

For some reason the document I was sent allow for me to sign electronically, but when I choose to do so, I'm asked first to draw a box to where the signature is to be placed, then another dialog box opens asking for the file.  I was not able to find a place to add a new signature by using the methods used previously.  I have a signature in a file and has been used many times for other .pdf docs with zero issues.

Not sure why this doc is giving me issues.  The document sent to me is showing its from Adobe 7.x! Not sure if that is the issue, as it could be the problem placing the signature.

Please advise to try and get this resolved.

How To Toggle Signature Fields Between Digital Certificate Signing and Ink Signing?

Hello. I’m getting lost Acrobat Pro XI and what I’m trying to accomplish and hoping that I can get some guidance. I know I'm probably overlooking something minor when creating the forms.

Background:

Trying to go paperless with internal documents that need to be signed and retained. Going to have kiosk stations with MS Surfaces with Acrobat Pro XI installed located in a certain office that will process associated items in relation to the paperwork. There will be a generic local Windows account on the Surfaces for this, so this will not be done from individual systems or domain accounts. Hence, there needs to be some ease and intuitiveness associated with this process. Some people will be able to sign with a digital certificate that is located on a personally assigned smart card. Not everyone will have this and if they don’t they will need to ink sign utilizing a stylus. This paperwork will need to be kept internally and will not be authorized to reside or even temporally reside on an external cloud solution.

Question:

How do I create a form with signature boxes that will ask the user if they want to digitally sign with a certificate or sign with digital ink. Then have that signature associated with and reside in that signature box (so people just don’t draw haphazardly on the document and so I can enforce required areas to be signed). The only option I ever seem to get is a certificate signing option, never ink.

We set the right permissions of the pdf files on our web server with Acrobat XI pro. Then we would like to load these pdf files on our web page in client side, for examle in firefox(ff). Will the settings of permissions be exist or because of ff loads it

We would like to purchase the adobe XI prof, but we have already purchased a software with wich we can set the appropriate permissions of our pdf files (on our web server) but when somebody downloads (with either firefox or ie) our webpage and open one of these files the installed permissions is not taken into connsideration because of the ff or ie  use the own pdf reader when the pdf file loading is inside the web page.

So we can't understand that what kind of permission is this, that a third party software (like ff, ie) -except acrobat reader- can overwrite, and not take it into consideration?

i need to sign greyed out

The HR Department at a large university where I work has a PDF form that I cannot sign using Adobe Reader, DC, Acrobat Pro 8 and Acrobat Pro XI.

When I look under file > properties > security,   it says that signing "is allowed".

But when I click on "I need to sign", all the choices are greyed out.   Also work with certificates is all greyed out.

It's very similar to if I sign and lock a document, the "i need to sign" and "work with certificates" would be greyed out.  But in that case, file > properties > security would show 'signing not allow".

Has anyone seen this before?

I am concerned that, while in a secure zone, the browser address bar does not display the "https" prefix or a Lock/Secure icon.  How can I fix this?

Acrobat complains that it cannot find headers or footers in PDF, upon trying to update/remove either, post removing metadata

NOTE: The words italicized below are assumed menu options available/steps to initiate the following actions, which are unable to be verified at this time with the person I am helping with this problem.

With a PDF that has had it's metadata removed (I presume that Acrobat has only one method of doing this) open, which was only ever opened on the one PC, in the one instance of Acrobat XI, selecting it's "Document" menu, then "Header & Footer", and then either "Update" or "Remove", leads to dialog boxes being displayed stating "Acrobat cannot find any headers or footers in this file. If you see header or footer information it was not added in Acrobat and cannot be detected as such." and (shown here with grey indicating the difference between the two) "Acrobat cannot find any headers or footers in this file. If you see header or footer information it was not added in Acrobat or by an Adobe PDFMaker, and cannot be detected as such.", respectively.

Has anyone else encountered this and has a fix, or does anyone known why Acrobat thinks it didn't add header and footer info it did (which presumably is the only issue preventing updating or removing them)?

I am attempting to create a PDF with multiple signature lines in it that anyone can "Sign" using their CAC (Common Access Card) enabled digital signature. The goal is to have one document that people can open, sign on a designated line, and save the document (overriding the existing document) and close. Then another person can open up that same document, digitally sign another area of the form, save it and close it. So on, and so on. Is there a way to do this? Ultimately, I would like to end up with one PDF with literally hundreds of different CAC enable signatures all over it..

We need a solution for allowing multiple people to download the same pdf file, complete the form fields, and then add their own password protection for local storage on their own computer. Is that possible? Thanks in advance -

What’s the intended workflow to prepare & sign a document with Acrobat DC when you are one of the signers?

I would think it would it be:

1. Convert document to PDF

2. Add signature fields with "Prepare Form"

3. Sign under “Fill & Sign"

4. Send to others

However this breaks down going from step 2 to 3. After you add signature fields and go to Fill & Sign, you don’t get any options to sign. On the right, it just says “You have opened a fillable PDF form. This form does not let you drag and drop saved information.” There’s two buttons for “Send & Track” and “Get Others to Sign,” but not one for “Sign This Myself” or similar.

Interactive PDF asking for signature, no sig was set up in document

Note: I also posted this in the Indesign forum because I don't know where the problem is originating.

I have  exported an interactive PDF from InDesign CS.5 which works exactly how it's supposed to. Everything is fine except that anyone who is using Adobe Reader (vs. Adobe Acrobat Pro) is getting a message that they are supposed to sign the document. Only problem is, I didn't set up a signature field in InDesign or Acrobat. I've attached a screenshot. When I did this project last year, Reader X wasn't out yet and everything worked perfectly without this problem in Reader 9.

I've gone into my preferences and removed and unchecked anything having to do with digital signatures or certificates from Acrobat and resaved with no luck. Anyone know how to get rid of this message/request?Screen shot 2012-06-15 at 3.59.15 PM.png

Also, the actual signature area is grayed out.

My client is not happy and I need to figure out how to make the document stop asking for this signature.

Thanks.

How do I apply a signature in multiple PDF files?

I'm a novice here and wanted to know if how does (Action Wizard) to digitally sign multiple PDF files at once, instead of opening a PDF file in Acrobat X. A user signs (e-signature) about 30 to 40 files a day and he has to open one by one to sign. Is there a way to do this without having to open one by one the PDF files?

Sorry for my bad english

Thank you.
